December Kisses Everyone!
Today was a very exciting day at work, my Glossybox and my Birchbox both came. So I had a bumper bunch of presents. This month’s Glossybox is the Rose Gold Edit, perfect for Christmas.
It’s such a beautiful box. Let’s see if the contents are equally as exciting…
This month’s box contains three full size products and an extra sixth treat (as it’s Christmas).
First up is the Golden Skin Caviar by Etre Belle.
It has a little metal rollerball that is very cooling and soothing on your under eyes. The product contains pullulan, which is a polymer that forms thin films to tighten the skin. However a pullulan film is water soluble, so the effects won’t be long term.
So although this feels very nice on my eyes, it’s probably not doing that much.
My next sample is the liquid lipstick in Showoff! by Essence. Full size.
Glossybox says liquid lipstick, I say lipgloss really. It’s very glossy and a bit sticky. The applicator does make it easy to paint a very defined line on your lips but I don’t think it’s very long wearing.
My main concern is with the colour though, it’s what I would call Barbie-pink and I don’t see myself choosing this one before any other lip colour I own.
The next sample this month is the Statement Skin Highlighter Pencil from So Susan.
This is one is full sized. It has a clever twist at the bottom to bring up more product so no need to sharpen and the slanted top is perfect for drawing in a highlight in wide or narrow strips. It’s a sort of champagne colour, which will suit my skin tone quite nicely I think. I really like this one. (see swatch below (the second one, obviously)).
This month my box also contains a full sized mascara from KIKO. The Extra Sculpt mascara.
I love the packaging and have heard good things about KIKO as a brand. The brush has an hourglass shape that is supposed to help curl your lashes. Mine have always been hopeless – no curl unless I use an eyelash curler, but once I have they hold it (about as well as they ever do) with this mascara. So not bad.
My favourite sample this month is the 8 Flower Nectar Oil Cream from Darphin.
I think I love it so much partly because it changes from a cream to an oil as you massage it into your skin, but also because it smells absolutely divine! I’m just sad it’s in such a little pot as this is a winter wonder product and will be gone in no time. Unfortunately a full sized pot will set you back £65. (I always love the expensive ones the most)
The extra sixth product this month is a bio-cellulose skin face mask from Starskin.
I’ve tried a cellulose mask before and I really enjoyed it. It left my skin feeling super soft and was very soothing. Glossybox have included one of four kinds in every box and mine is Red Carpet Ready, so I’m saving it for a special occasion this holiday season.
And there you have it.
December’s Glossybox was very good in my opinion.
How did your box compare to mine? And what was your favourite sample?
Until next time,
